Full Review

The book begins with describing Prana and explains how it permeates the entire universe. You will get to know how Prana sustains your body, influences your mind, and charts the entire course of your life.

Later on, several associated yogic concepts, such as Chakras, Kundalini and Nadis are discussed. The fundamental aspect of our lives, breath, is described in relation to Prana. The author explains the various breathing methods and the process to become more conscious of your breath.

The final chapter provides full details on different Pranayamas, including the preparatory practices that are essential for anyone embarking on the yogic journey. One of the key strengths of this book is that it frequently explains different concepts from a scientific point of view.

The appendices section describes several related concepts, such as bandhas, mudras, and asanas. Various verses of Hatha Yoga Pradipika Pranayama sutras are also mentioned. Relevant pictures are used across all the important topics.

Overall, this is a very useful book on Pranayama that I have read. Of course, merely reading will not help you much; you will still need a qualified guide. Even so, I strongly recommend it to everyone interested in knowing more about Pranayama and other related topics.
